candycandycandycandycandy

I bought this delightful little box of Black Currant Pastilles at Ikea on Tuesday for 99 cents. I opened them this morning and they are so good. They are tiny, and slightly chewy, vaguely minty, and sugar free. The url on the back was www.lakerol.com, but I've checked it out and I get a page not found error. So, complete geek that I am, I looked it up on network solutions' whois database, and the domain name is registered to a candy company in Sweden. I need to buy more of these, but would like to avoid having to drive to Pittsburgh to do so.

I have also had the thought that the company has folded, and that the candies would taste stale to a Swede, but to my uncultured American palate, this tastes somehow appealing.

You can buy all kinds of things Swedish at http://www.swedensbest.com/, including Lakerol products.

i havent had that kind, but i really like lindt a lot, and i fortunately have a nack for finding it in clearance bins. we should go together on some leonida's sometime, supposedly some of the best choclate in the world, but it spoils quickly because it doesnt have many preservatives in it i guess. you have to mail-order it.
