nostalgia: the monkey is dying

And it's been a slow, painful, cruel death.

My favorite web developing site, webmonkey,, will be no more. I realized it would happen, but I was holding out hope that they'd return to their previous rate of production.

Way back when, I learned tables from webmonkey. Later on, I learned CSS from webmonkey. I used articles from webmonkey to convince the powers that be at my current job that Dreamweaver was far superior to FrontPage.

Webmonkey, I'll miss you. And as a general rule, I don't usually even like monkeys.

:( yeah i noticed that they haven't updated their site in, oh, like 3 years, but i kept hoping they would. i guess it's not to be.

what, you have something against trunk monkeys?

Monkeys in general, I'm not real fond of. There is a reason why, but it's incredibly complex and goes back to my childhood, and I don't think I've ever really divulged it to anyone, so we won't go there.

That trunk monkey thing weirds me out because it's horrifically violent. My dad got hit over the head with a tire iron once, when I was about 4. I suppose some will say I have no sense of humor, but I don't generally laugh at senseless violence, even if it's perpetrated by monkeys. YMMV. :-)

wow, so, like was the story for dead alive taken from your childhood?

Um, no. I didn't make that very clear did I? My father was not hit over the head with a tire iron by a monkey. However, he was once bitten on the ass by a poodle.
