Stupid things I have done in the past week

1. Poured salt in my purse.

2. Woke up 1/2 hour before hockey game on Sunday.

3. Failed to fold laundry, resulting in wrinkles.

4. Rubbed an unknown substance into my eye this morning, causing a need for 30 minutes of rinsing it out and burning for most of the day. I have had to pull my contact out and clean it out about 3 times now.

5. Just burned my hand & thumb by moving my cup out from under the hot water spigot on the coffee maker while fixing hot chocolate. Ouch!

I NEED VACATION!!!!

Ouchy eye and hand! I hope the week improves from this point on. Any vacation plans in the near future?

It's percolating in my head. I went to Kripalu a little over a year ago and loved it. I'd love to go back during the summer, when they are busier. But I also hold a very special love for Seattle, and would love to go there again. And then, my friend [livejournal.com profile] spandita is in Madrid and I still haven't made it over there (though I'm not sure my wallet will handle that).

Right now, I just need to sit myself down in front of travelocity and such and work out some plans!

I vote for Madrid (I love Spain!) but Kripalu would be nice too. Do you go to Kripalu as a guest or a worker? I was doing a lot of Kripalu yoga awhile back and I really enjoyed it. I've never been to Seattle but I hope to go in the near future bc a friend of mine is moving there from Massachusetts (which I also love).

Yay for vacation!!

I went as a guest. I'd love to go back on the work program, but unfortunately, I don't think I can swing it financially or time-wise right now. The yoga style is much different from what I'm used to (Iyengar Hatha) but I did like it. It was really the vibe of the place that I really loved though--sooooo relaxing!

I've never been to the centre myself but I would love to treat myself to a weekend sometime.

The thing that I really like about Kripalu yoga is that it really makes the mind/body connection by relating different postures to different mental states. I found it to be really powerful. Of course now I'm not doing ANY yoga which is just bad for my mind/body.

Same here. When I went back to school, I pretty much dropped out of yoga. And I vowed to go back this year, but my work schedule has pre-empted that.

I can seriously say that my last yoga class was with Rodney Yee. Which is cool and all, but it was *September* when he was here!

How was your class with Rodney Yee? Was he wearing a Speedo? hee hee!

[identity profile] pixiecrinkle.livejournal.com 2004-05-05 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
Speedo...yep, pretty much. :-)

The year before, he came to the yoga studio I go to and just did a demonstration because his first book had just come out and a friend of mine got a, um, well, rather interesting side view photo of him in Eastern Plank pose. We all had a huge feeling of guilt for lusting after a yoga teacher like that.

He is an amazing teacher. He only did a short class for the non-teacher level people, and I wished I had more time to work with him, but what I did have was definitely worth it. Unfortunatly, he rarely does non-teacher level classes anymore. I'm not even sure if he's coming to Columbus at all this year. :-(

Yoga teachers aren't monks, what's wrong with lusting after them? The speedo is just a little too much for me though...I have the same problem with ballet dancers. TMI for my eyes!

Well, I guess it's the whole celibacy thing that runs through some yogic traditions. And the fact that shortly after that, we read that Yee was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student in California. Plus, the teacher program at my studio has a very strict policy on student-teacher interaction. All that combined....guilt! :-)
