Today's Accomplishment

I'm starting to unravel the sweaters I bought for 25cents each at a thrift store a few months back.

I started with the easy one: a bulky wool/cotton blend Eddie Bauer sweater. I forgot to take a true before picture, so one sleeve's already missing in this, but you can see the sweater, and the resulting yarn balls. Ever since I read how to do center pull balls in Stitch and Bitch I've liked making them.

And then, I got ambitious. I'm trying to unravel a laceweight mohair blend t-shirt. I got all the sequins off of it with manicure scissors, but the seams aer machine serged and so far, I have a royal mess. I'm thinking I might have to just forget trying to salvage the sleeves. If I start over from the bottom I might get enough yarn for a scarf out of it, but I'm not holding my breath on this right now.

I still have two more to do: a sportweight shetland wool, and a cable knit handknit thing that's a men's extra large that will probably yield enough yarn for me to make two sweaters in, but will take roughly 9 days to properly unravel. Fun.

The yarn from the top sweater looks yummy, good job!

Lovely color from that Eddie Bauer one! I can see how machine serged seams would be a royal pain, especially with a lightweight yarn. Good luck.
