Weird dream
This was one of those dreams that, once you've woken up, still seems vividly real, so you're left with the emotional fallout, even though it didn't really happen.
So, I was in some sort of band. It must have been like Polyphonic Spree, because it seemed there were roughly 25 other people in the band. And my sister had asked the band to play at her wedding. We were sort of atmospheric pop electronica or something.
So, we were supposed to meet at this house, and then all drive up to the ceremony location (which was apparently in Newark?) for the ceremony at 4 pm.
Somehow, we didn't end up with even half the band members in the house by 8pm. I had wanted to take a taxi out to the ceremony, but no one would let me, saying they'd just delay the ceremony for us anyway. (I should add that none of these people were people I know in real life, and even in the dream, I didn't know them well, so I'm not sure why I was listening to them.)
So at 8:30, I called my mom. The phone picked up, but she wasn't on it, and I thought I heard her say they'd postponed the wedding to the following day. I was quite relieved, but I called her right back, and found out that they in fact hadn't, and my sister was royally upset with me (with good cause) and I'd missed everything. Wedding, reception, everything.
I kept trying to go back to sleep and have a happier dream before getting up, but all that succeeded in doing was making me late for work. Weird.
