Knitting update for the weekend
Got two rows of the afghan stitched together, and embroidery done on some of the pieces, which I had forgotten about. I hate French knots with a passion, and seem to have created my own way to do them, rather than following the sketchy instructions. So tonight, I get to start weaving in ends and blocking on the remaining three rows.
In addition, I have drafted a scathing letter to Lion Brand about the quantity of yarn the pattern told me to buy. I have enough yarn left over to knit 75% of the afghan again. And this isn't yarn I just like to have laying around (Wool-ease chunky). I do have a couple of uses in mind for some of it, but still, they told me to buy two balls of a color that's only used for a little embroidery!
Also got my slipper socks felted. They are a little snug for my large feet, but I've been stretching them. I'll wear them around tonight over socks and see if I can't stretch them out a bit more.
Pictures later on, when I'm home.
I need to finish the Vogue knitting tank top I'm working on. Right now, it's looking like I could gain 70 pounds or so before it would fit correctly, but I'm determined to get the back finished before I make that judgment for certain, so I can measure it properly. It's going to be a bitch to frog, because it's double stranded with really tangly yarn. I don't know why it is my gauge can be spot on, but yet I can't seem to make garments that approach fitting correctly.
I need to finish that though, because I'm not allowed to start Rosedale United until I get it done, and I am so wanting to work with the Kureyon right now!!!
I also have a couple of birthday gifts to do, which will hopefully use up some of my eyelash yarns -- I have tons right now. I'm thinking Lamb's Pride or Wool Ease coasters with Fun Fur trim. That could be fun in the right colors.
Oh yeah. I should finish that tote bag from the yarn in my user icon too. That's only been on the needles for a year or so. It's my "out and about" project though because it's straight stockinette and easy to carry along in my purse. So someday, it will actually be the purse itself. :-)
