pixiecrinkle: (nanowrimo)

Am beginning to doubt my time commitment regarding nanowrimo. Despite the marathon cooking I've been doing, we just started a major project here at work that's making long hours look likely. I was here until 8:30 Friday, and stayed until 7 or 7:30 two other days last week. With that sort of schedule, I'm not sure I'll be able to make my 3 hours a day goal on nano.

I also need to get moving on holiday gifts. I finished a scarf last night, bringing the total of completed gifts to three. Out of fifteen or so. If I can get my grandma's partially done this week, that would get me well on my way, as it's the largest item (a cabled sweatervest). If I could get myself to the point where I could dictate my novel while knitting, that would be optimal, but I'm not sure about that. I'll have to retrain Dragon in that case, because I think I lost my database when my machine freaked out last year. I might not be able to do new writing that way, but I bet I could read in handwritten portions that way, which might be a good idea.

They scheduled the nano kickoff for the tentative day I'm supposed to be teaching knitting to S and her friends. I hate to move it, but I really want to make it to the kickoff.

I think I need to write out an email to everyone I know apprising them of my intention to do nano. Maybe if I force everyone to ignore me for a month, that will help keep me on task.
