sigh.

If I don't get a rebound migraine this weekend, I'll be shocked. I've taken
Excedrin every day this week, for headaches, cramps, etc. And my wrist
hurts this morning (I jammed it falling, while trying to sit on a Balance
Ball last night) and I was going to take a Vioxx this morning for it, and
totally forgot. I need to get a little pill box so I can keep small amounts
of all my various "take on demand" drugs with me at work, so I don't need a
bottle of each at home and work. I just took some excedrin, but I'm toying
with going home at lunch to grab the Vioxx, if it continues to feel like
this. It is every so slightly swollen. And they've been so good for so
long!!!

Went to see Belle and Sebastian and Rasputina last night. It was a great
show, but automat76 was right in that it shouldn't have been in
a sitdown place (was at the auditorium at the Wexner Center). Not sure
where else in C-bus they could have put it though.

Rasputina was phenomenal. I could have sworn they were a trio before, but
there were just two women on cello, and a guy on drums. We bonded with the
guys in front of us (Were they on a date or not? Who knows?) by trying to
persuade them that they would really really like Rasputina. And they did,
but not as much as us I don't think. I'm hoping they get a tour of their
own soon and come back through because they are simply amazing. Melora's
voice is *perfect*. And just about the time I was going to mention that she
sounded a bit like Nancy Wilson from Heart, they launched into a cover of
"Barracuda." It was funny. And *good.* They closed the show with a Led
Zeppelin cover. And there was a short tease of "Baby Got Back" but they
(fortunately) didn't finish that one.

Belle and Sebastian have a happier vibe than I remembered. I used to play a
couple of their songs on my radio show in college, but they were sort of
melancholy. Last night had a definite Partridge Family quality to it, with
up to 13 people on stage at one point, and everyone playing nearly every
instrument. It was very fun to watch and the two guys up front are soooooo
adorable. They asked the crowd for cover requests at one point, and ended
up playing an impromptu "Cecilia" that wasn't half bad. Reminded me of the
time in college a bunch of my friends did that in a station wagon, and the
idea for Lavish McTavish, the world's first Irish punk cover band, was born.
It never materialized, but our plan was to make up for the fact that only a
few of us had any musical talent by covering with sheer numbers. I still
want to learn how to play the tin whistle.

And now, I must get some work done. Tonight is quickie wine tasting at BbB
and then packing so we can jet off to Chicago tomorrow morning. Hooray!

1. What food do you like that most people hate?

Black licorice? But most people I know like that. Tofu? Most people I know like that too.

2. What food do you hate that most people love?

Peppers. Of any kind, but especially green bell peppers and jalapenos. I can tolerate some of them provided they aren't green, but I hate spiciness that comes from peppers. I like spicy food otherwise though.

3. What famous person, whom many people may find attractive, is most unappealing to you?

Tom Cruise. I think he is the slimiest man on the planet.

4. What famous person, whom many people may find unappealing, do you find attractive?

Jon Cryer. Yes, really.

5. What popular trend baffles you?

Reality TV. Though I can get sucked in. It's like a train wreck.

Um....what?

So here's this odd story, that seems pretty mundane.

But, the reason I clicked on it was that the headline on CNN's homepage was
"Gay students charged in robbery". And I thought to myself as I clicked,
"What makes it relevant that they are gay?"

And then I read the article. And it never mentions the sexuality of said
students, because it is irrelevant. And guess what? Looks like someone in
the headline writing position equated "cross-dressing" with "gay."

I don't even have the energy to write the letter in my head. So I'll just
grouse here for now.
