What is up with the dreams?

Saturday night, had another very odd dream. This time, [livejournal.com profile] automat76 and I were at some sort of camp, but we were checking into a hotel. They told us we were in room 85, so we went off down a hall. The "hotel" turned out to be more like a dorm, with all these rooms that you had to walk through, rather than using a hallway. At one point, we walked into the room of a girl who I know went to Denison, but who I'm fairly certain I never actually had a conversation with. In the dream automat76 knew her well, and we stayed for a while talking to her, despite the fact we were still in the 400s roomwise and still needed to reach 85 before some unspecified activity began. We ended up leaving our stuff there, and going outside to the "camp" where there were people I actually did go to 4-H camp with hanging out at booths. I stopped at one and got my cholesterol checked. (In the nose-piercing dream, there was no pain, but in this one, I really felt the little glass-pipette blood drop catcher thing. Weird.) It was 313 and the woman freaked out (with good reason).

Last night I know I had more weird ones, but they've all left me. This may be a good thing.

ICFD last night was good, but I definitely gave myself a major sugar rush. There were only a few non-dessert type things, and only a couple were vegetarian, so I mainly indulged in the desserts, which included: my huge cake, a yummy alsatian apple tart, chocolate soup, raspberry fudge with raspberries & whipped cream (a la [livejournal.com profile] umama, a berry/chocolate brownie thing (which was incredible, but got referred to as "the bloody mess" all night, due to its appearance), "Candyland" which included chocolate pudding and mint chocolate chip ice cream, chocolate bark, and more. After all that and two cups of coffee (which I drink very very rarely) I had given myself a nice tingly feeling in my head. Joy.

And today is day one of South Beach. My blood sugar hates me right now. It will get over it though.

I have no sense of time or space...

Lost most of the afternoon to a migraine. Didn't really realize it was a migraine for a while, then all the sudden WHAM! So I spent some time in bed. Got woken up at one point by a phone call from a number I didn't recognize (and that left no message--grrrrr...). Was utterly convinced (in my stupified, sleepy state) that it was someone at work calling to say "You don't get President's Day off!" Whatever.

Day 1 of South Beach concludes with no cheating, and me feeling pretty good. Tomorrow's lunch and breakfast are ready to go, and my meal plan is completed for the week. The ricotta dessert is scarily good. I still can't believe I actually consumed dessert after last night's all chocolate feast, but I perservered. :-)

Must go finish the dishes, and get some knitting done. Haven't quite met my goal for the weekend, but I have nearly 1/4 of the sweater done. And got a knitting magazine at the grocery last night, which has the hat pattern that STS has been asking me to teach him to do, which is good. We can knit those up quickly together in an afternoon if all goes well. Also found a quick and easy pattern for B&T's baby, in an appropriate size for a May baby. After that, it's on to finish the pillows. I am so much faster at purling than I was when I started them (roughly 1.5 years ago) that this should go pretty quickly. Then again, my cousin gets married in October, so maybe I'll knit them an afghan or something for the wedding. Not sure if they'll go for that or not, but I'm loving working with the Lion Homespun, and the magazine I got last night has lots of afghan patterns using that for intarsia patterns that don't look that hard. We'll see.

Just checked my work email a while ago and I have meetings scheduled from 9 to 2 tomorrow, with a short break for lunch. And we're in a development period. I wish they'd stop referring to me as a developer if they still expect me to attend all the analyst meetings. Not that I'm either one in title though. Sigh.

Off I go now.
