Fun with useless ashtrays
Apparently there is a small movement to make restaraunts and bars in Columbus smoke free. I'm not getting my hopes up, but that would rock! This site has info for business owners and I loved the thing above.

The site I linked quoted statistics (but with no citations...grrr.) that most smokers support a smoking ban in restaurants. I think that's probably true among my friends, but I wish they said how they came to that conclusion.
They also concentrated on the restaurant thing, which honestly, doesn't bother me nearly as much as bars. In restaurants, I don't tend to come home reeking of smoke like I do when I go out to a show or a bar.

i think it was bloomington (home of IU) that recently made the same change, but it sucked that there was a grandfather clause -- meaning, it was VOLUNTARY for existing restaurants/bars and mandatory only for NEW ones.
the suckiest thing about the bars there was "running through the smokers gauntlet" on the way inside since there were folk crammed by the doors. imagine being able to wear wool to a concert in the winter (and no febreeze required) -- kick ass.
