This article talks about the stupid popup generating software that got installed on my machine and made my life hell earlier this week. Funny, I never opted in. Grrrrrr....

If one more person asks me why I'm wearing purple and black rather than red and grey today, I might slug them. Just because I live in this city does not mean my life revolves around OSU football!!! (Well, that's not entirely true. I live close enough to campus that sometimes it does have to -- ie. not being able to drive anywhere on Saturday afternoons -- but that's by default, not choice. And I resent it.) I'm sooooo glad I'm not going to be here this weekend.

Pretend you're me.

random stranger: Hey! Why aren't you wearing red and grey today?
[livejournal.com profile] pixiecrinkle: Um, why would I? *looks around furtively*
stranger: It's a game day!
pixie: game?
stranger: *inserts name of OSU team*
pixie: is that some kind of football thing?
stranger: um. YES.
pixie: Weird. Y'all look like you're in some kind of freakish cult. *walks away*

That used to be my default answer. Then, one time in a situation where I couldn't leave, I was berated for the next *hour* about what a freak I must be for not liking football.

The sheer look of amazement that people get when you just say, "Eh, not my thing," is downright frightening. It's akin to the look they might get if I'd just explained some sort of quantum physics concept.
