The fundies are here! The fundies are here!
I don't understand the leaps of logic these people make. Operation Save America has descended upon Columbus the past few days. Which means anti-abortion people on the corners during my commute. I had no idea until I read this article that they'd descended in such numbers--I've only been seeing four a day (Including yesterday, a twelve year old boy holding a huge picture of a supposedly aborted fetus in one hand, and a bible in the other). I expected to see them at the statehouse, which I can see from my cube at work, but apparently they chose city hall instead.
Last night, driving home from work, I ended up behind some sort of pickup truck/parade float hybrid. I thought at first that it was in the shape of a large naked ass, but then realized it was a crude cutout of stone tablets with the ten commandments. Actually, there were 11, as OSA had added their own, "Thou Shalt Pass the Federal Marriage Amendment." Um, yeah, whatever. How is it not sacriligious to add your own commandments? It's not Mad Libs!! They also had the word "homosexuality" painted on the side in big rainbow bubble letters. I couldn't figure out what their point was with that -- kind of confused the issue.
I'm really pissed that they are thinking of burning not only the pride flag (we've seen that before here in Columbus) but a copy of the Quran. To me that's about equal to cross burning. And I don't see how they convert anyone to their view with tactics like that.
