pixiecrinkle: (nanowrimo)

I'm declaring it now

I'm doing nanawrimo this year. I was in school last year, so couldn't do it, but this year, I think I'm up to it.

I have some characters, and will start trying to sketch out how they know each other. I'm not sure about that. Plot at this point, is non-existant.

This is going to be a crappy novel to end all crappy novels. :-)

I attempted NaNoWriMo the past two years, and got anywhere between 25,000 and 37,000 words done before I absolutely hated my characters and wanted them all to die.

So, for the past week, I've been "interviewing" my character for background for her story. Unfortunately, I found out she has two friends that I know nothing about. So now I'll have to interview those two this month. One's a real firecracker.

Another problem I've had was plotline. I had NO CLUE what I wanted my characters to do besides artfully walk around their apartments, looking at their rooms and thinking about stuff. I'll figure something out.

Sorry. I'm babbling yet again!

I've always wanted to do this. I've attempted novels before, but I always put so much into character development that it's pretty difficult to actually have them do anything by the time I'm through with that, and so I quit writing.

I'm vowing not to overdo it with them this time around. We shall see.
