I am exhausted this morning. So much so that I can hardly focus.
So, the weekend went something like this.
Wednesday evening: spent too much time at Mac's with
automat76 and her little sis, and with playing with the kittens afterward, so I didn't leave Columbus until after 10 pm. Got to my sister's around 1:30. That is a hellish drive. Driving to Cleveland is bad enough, but her place is a good 45 minutes beyond downtown Cleveland.
Thursday: We woke up very very late and were late meeting her other friend/bridesmaid at David's bridal. See previous post for that whole story. I really don't know why they weren't more attentive to us, but since my sis was pretty much doing all the work, they have likely lost the sale to us.
Came home Thursday in lieu of driving to Toledo for knitfest.
Friday: Lazed about. Made it to B&N to finally obtain Stitch n' Bitch Nation. Have started making the cabled hat in it as a gift for someone. I'm using this tweed yarn that I picked up last week, and though it's 100% wool, it acts as tricky as cotton. My needles kept falling out until I got up to the part where I could switch up a size and start using bamboo.
Saturday: Aveda Institute for a haircut (not fabulous, but there's nothing wrong with it) and a facial (heavenly!). I love that I live in a world where I can pay $30 to lie in dark room under a steam vent with a woman painting various lotions onto my face with a brush. It was lovely, and uber-cheap, given that it included hand and arm and leg and foot massages as well.
So I was all blissed out by the time we left for Pittsburgh. Was exceptionally happy I didn't have to drive, given how far I'd driven before. We checked in to our super swanky hotel (Omni) and got ready. There are conflicting opinions as to whether or not Chloe Sevigny was checking in next to us. I am in the yes camp.
The party was in a cool club, though a bit gimmicky. It was called Schizophrenia, and had different rooms named after things like "insanity," "nymphomania" etc. My whirlwind traveling coupled with the lack of windows there led me to believe it was far later than it actually was when we left. The weird moment of the entire weekend occured when we left the club, and
spandita was outside, having just arrived in Pittsburgh. He was driving around looking for the club when we all tumbled outside at precisely the right moment. Weird.
Sunday: Hangovers, wonderful brunch, and then a trip to Ikea, where we got lost approximately 6 times on the way. A ride home under a newly purchased down comforter put me right to sleep. Home around 8. I sat in front of the TV, and then went to bed early. Somehow, I was still tired when I got up, and managed to make it to work a bit late despite my best intentions.
Back to my "real life." Today's exciting task: laundry!!

I got the SnB book Sunday, and I'm already plotting the gator mittens for my brother in law and the devil pants for my pregnant friend. I am super excited!
We're going to Philly next week to pick up my husband's cousin from Drexel, and we have a trip to Ikea built into our plans. Yay Ikea!!! We need one here!
