Help?

Can anyone suggest to me a good place to look for bridesmaid's gowns? I've been surfing websites of department stores and such and have found a few things, but googling turns up such a vast array of results I don't know where to begin.

For reference, the dress I tried on that my sister (the bride), one other bridesmaid and I all agreed on was this one although the color she'd prefer is a light sage green.

Help???

My bridesmaids wore dresses from Mori Lee. Good quality, decent prices. http://www.morilee.com

Or were you looking for actual stores?

Kind of both, but I just checked out that site and found something that I think would coordinate with my sister's dress really well (and would not require the busty bridesmaid brigade, as I have dubbed us, to suffer the indignity of strapless bras!) And they are carried at a store near her. Thank you!!!!

The Knot has excellent planning tools, too. My sister used them heavily doing her wedding this past October.

You're welcome!

The bride in the wedding I was in a year and a half ago picked our dress out of the Chadwick's of Boston discount catalog. $79 plus tax. Black, pretty, simple - and it looked good on EVERYONE, from the size 2 soprano to my 22-sized self.

Highly recommended.

Thanks! I'll check it out!

Let me second that. Not Chadwick's, necessarily, but "not an official bridesmaid's dress". When I married, my sister wore just a nice cocktail dress, she looked great, and it cost what you'd hope to spend on something you were going to wear once.
