Shoes!

There are only a few things in life that I will argue are better when they cost more. Well, not better because they cost more, but that cost more, because they are better.

It takes a lot to get me to buy brand-name anything in the grocery store, but get me in a shoe store, and my underlying label snobbery will come out. I don't believe for a second that all expensive shoes will be comfortable, but in my experience, comfortable shoes cost more.

In that vein, while shopping for silver sandals for my sister's wedding yesterday, I came across a great bargain, and picked up these:

Original price: in the Sex & the City range, though not quite as much as Manolo Blahniks. Marked down 30% off just for being at DSW, then another 40% off for being on clearance, then another 15% off with coupon. Yep, still a bit pricey, but no more than I'd pay for Docs or Birkenstocks, or Dansko clogs, all of which are wonderfully comfy shoes, but not so work friendly as these.

I have glamorous feet today. And I'm towering over all my co-workers. Oh what fun.

So what are they, Balenciaga?

Marc Jacobs. I have a serious Marc Jacobs fetish. :-)

Gasp! Shoes! Yay!

Where did you get the DSW coupon? I think I'm $1 away from my "You spend so much money here we're going to make it worth your while" coupon.

Now I know where I'm going tonight. Last time I was there I was so mad, they had black patent leather knee boots that were Nine West and they were $20 with the discount and they were too. Small. Damn!!!

It came in the mail, I think because I am also a member of the DSW Addicts club. :-)

The Easton store had *tons* of clearance in the back--the women's clearance ran nearly the length of the entire back of the store, and there was a special designer clearance section.

I'm glad I got these, because my last trip, I bought a pair of MJ slingbacks on clearance, and the elastic broke when I tried to wear them, so I had to take them back. So these made up for them. No yarn this time though--I got a lot of that there once too, in the form of Suss poncho kits.
