Please answer my highly unscientific poll...

OK, so I was just mulling something over this morning, and was thinking that I knew a disproportionate number of knitters from one profession. But then I realized that maybe I just knew a disporportionate number of people from that profession, whether they knit or not, at least in the virtual world. So I decided to waste a bit of time since I'm brain dead this morning and make a little poll.

And again, let me mention the brain deadness--I know I've missed major categories of jobs in my list, so please list them in the comments.

[Poll #533040]

I might technically count as a tech geek, since I work a first-level computer support helpdesk, but it's actually tech support, without the coolness of the geek factor, and I'm not personally, tempermentally, a tech geek.

And I know how to knit on a very basic level (I can make scarves), and do so occasionally, but wouldn't identify as a "knitter" in the same way that people who are doing it actively as a hobby do.

I'm a geologist, so "scientist" is usually what I'm categorized as. I also fit under "government".

My grandmother tried to teach me to knit when I was a girl, but I got too easily frustrated with the close, repetative work. I have no desire to learn.

I answered "librarian" since I'm currently going to grad school for that. Of course I also checked "Office Slavey" because that's what I'm doing right now. I hope that doesn't skew the results of your poll. :)

Well, now I'm curious who the other librarians you know are.

How did you guess that that was the profession I was interested in??? :-)

Actually, I've just found it funny that I've always seemed to know a lot of librarians. It might just be that librarians skewed to "early on the net" people, because I met a lot of them way back in the day on usenet in piercing and tattooing groups.

Sari silk is already in my bag--I will have it with me Sunday!

I'm a library assistant, but close enough (just don't tell a degree-ed librarian that).

I'll be a full-time student again in the fall, but I didn't check that.

hey there! I'm not ignoring your phone message BTW--I just haven't been home much this week. I will try to catch up with you this weekend. Hope all is well!

Umm... The other would be feng shui consultant and Cuddle Party facilitator. But I did used to work at a library and I've been working at a bookstore for the last 5 years...
