Well, the email post has never showed up, so I'll post the photo now that I've uploaded some. Typing is beginning to get to my wrists a bit, I think because I attempted knitting on size 2 needles this evening, so this will be mercifully short.

Oh WOW. Not only is it a nifty... sampler? do people say "sampler" for an afghan with different styles in the squares?... it also just plain looks like an enormous amount of work!

Yep, it's a sampler afghan. And it was tons of work. But so worth it.
