What a waste of a weekend.
Saturday - Couldn't find motivation to do anything. I did finish a book (Barbara Kingsolver's The Bean Trees) and pseudo-organized the closet in my living room. I was going to clean some more, but then
automat76 called and said people were getting together at T & B's so that sounded way better than cleaning and I went. Had fun playing with Sam, and watching Old School Sesame Street upstairs with the girls. Then we went to Mac's with B&J for beers & feasting. After that, trekked back to B&J's house to watch Pootie-Tang (Yes,
spandita, I've finally seen it. And let me just say, "wow.")
Sunday - Woke up fairly early and felt ok, but lazed in bed for a while, then fell back asleep. Woke up, only to find myself horrifyingly ill. Went back to sleep for a few more hours. Got up, ate about 3 tablespoons oatmeal. Went back to sleep. At some point, woke up and realized I had a terrible migraine, but was afraid to take any pills on an empty stomach, so eventually got out of bed and took a nasal Imitrex, and fell back asleep. Woke up, was horrifyingly ill again. Went back to sleep *again*.
Woke up around 6 pm, and felt better. Realized I was very dehydrated, and needed to get something in me other than water. Also realized I had to move my car out of the school lot before morning. So I got dressed, and got in the car to drive to Kroger. Through some miraculous stroke of luck, Giant Eagle had opened that morning where our old Big Bear had been, so I was able to stop there.
Got the sickness staples: soup, juice, ginger ale, etc. Went home, and attempted to eat both soup and applesauce, and got about 4 tablespoons each in me. So I got a glass of ginger ale and went upstairs for a bath. Started reading Nick Hornby's Songbook. Fell asleep again around 9:30 and slept until 7:30 this morning. So in the past 36 hours, I slept about 28 of them. Fun.
I feel okay this morning, though the ghost of the migraine is still there. I just wish I knew why I was that sick. I didn't drink enough Saturday night to be near that hung over. Last time I was this sick, it was the result of eating raw fish in sushi. I did eat some feta cheese before going out that I questioned the freshness of, but I really don't think it could have gone bad in a span of 24 hours. Maybe it was the migraine, though I've been lucky that mine rarely make me nauseous. This just happens every once in a while, and I've chalked it up to something to do with beer, but this time was far worse than normal. I don't like it when my body rebels against me. :-(
This morning though, I'm way more awake than normal. A couple of Excedrin are holding back the migraine pain, though I have to be careful not to look at this monitor for too long a time (It's going bad and has wiggly pixels). Again all my meetings have been canceled, but I have enough to keep me busy today. Yay! So things are looking up. Though I don't know what wouldn't make them look up after a weekend like that. Bleh.

This reminds me. We need to rent Bottle Rocket so you can see it. This sound figures prominently in the film.
GE has a great produce section, especially for the size of the store. Bulk mushrooms! I do think they are more expensive than Kroger, but I'm not entirely sure. They carry lots more foods I eat too -- like Stonyfield yogurt, and various brands of tofu -- but still no Silk yogurt. Gotta go to Wild Oats for that.

I think the guy who played PT deserves a special award for "Best Performance in which no word uttered is from an actual language."
