Knitting

The sweater is officially half finished. Here's a photo.

This is the back of it. I got about 4 rows of ribbing done on the front this evening. Ribbing just takes it's toll on my wrists a lot faster than straight knitting, because of all the yarn overs. Six more rows of that and then it's stockinette stitch for about twenty years.

I went a litle photo happy with the digital camera tonight. Here's the other shots:

My brand new kitchen bulletin board (clearance sales at Target are dangerous! That's a new sale priced plant too.)

The paperwhite bulbs I'm forcing, which got a little photosensitive (and a bit phallic) today apparantly. STS got me these for Christmas.

The tattoo design I'm considering. Those are origami cranes. It would (will?) go on my right shoulder blade, and will hopefully include a bit more shading.

That's a lot of line work on the tattoo. I don't know if I would end up with that many cranes once all was said and done.

Yeah, considering I passed out twice during my first tattoo, which isn't nearly so large, and is just blackwork, I've been a bit skittish about actually undertaking that.

Yeah -- the shading wouldn't be bad, but the lines. Ow. I have a tattoo similar to my icon, and the line work was a bit much for my pain threshold.

The sweater is looking nice! I've been thinking about trying knitting again. My grandmother tried to teach me when I was little and I failed at it completely. Maybe now I have some coordination? :)

That's a lovely idea for a tattoo.

My grandma tried to teach me how to crochet when I was little and I hated it. I vowed to teach myself to knit when I took it up a few years ago, and "Knitting for Dummies" got me pretty far, but there were still a few things I had to ask grandma about.

"Knitting For Dummies"! What a great idea. I'll look for that. Thanks!

I love the tattoo design!

This past summer, my church in Calif decorated the tree branch behind the pulpit in pride color cranes:

That photo is so cool. That's kind of the idea I was going for too. How strange!

In the case of the Unitarian Universalist's intentions, I'd say "How queer" :)
