The Norton Anthology of Magnetic Poetry, 2nd edition

When I moved out of my first apartment, and had to remove the magnetic poetry from the fridge, I copied some down, so as to have it preserved. I can't find that list, but it would be the first edition.

Because I think I'm going to have to wipe down the fridge really well as a part of my spring cleaning process, I will likely have to disturb the handiwork now gracing my fridge.

Most of these I kind of know who wrote. I believe the majority were by either me, [livejournal.com profile] automat76, [livejournal.com profile] spandita or other visitors, in varying degrees of intoxication, to my kitchen.

So herein lies the second edition )

This is from the following sets:
Original
Artist Edition
Genius edition
and freebie sets from:
Thunderlizard Web Design World Conference
Columbus Alive
the movie "Your Friends & Neighbors"

If you are a purist, you may prefer the original text.

Knitting

The sweater is officially half finished. Here's a photo.

This is the back of it. I got about 4 rows of ribbing done on the front this evening. Ribbing just takes it's toll on my wrists a lot faster than straight knitting, because of all the yarn overs. Six more rows of that and then it's stockinette stitch for about twenty years.

I went a litle photo happy with the digital camera tonight. Here's the other shots:

My brand new kitchen bulletin board (clearance sales at Target are dangerous! That's a new sale priced plant too.)

The paperwhite bulbs I'm forcing, which got a little photosensitive (and a bit phallic) today apparantly. STS got me these for Christmas.

The tattoo design I'm considering. Those are origami cranes. It would (will?) go on my right shoulder blade, and will hopefully include a bit more shading.

Shaking update

The shaking of the building I reported earlier (and that I experienced again this weekend) is apparently not an earthquake, but has been explained by "cleaning in the basement." The reason that theory does not make me feel any more secure is that we are on the eighth floor, and the "basement" is the bottom of the parking garage, 3 stories underground. With the weird mezzanine levels and such, that means the source of the shaking was inside the building, 12 floors down from us, and yet my monitor was practically bouncing on my desk.

Surprise! Shrubya backs anti- same sex marriage amendment.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/ALLPOLITICS/02/24/elec04.prez.bush.marriage/index.html

Grrrrrr......What bothers me most about this goes beyond my personal feelings on the issue, way back to middle school social studies class when we learned about the three branches of government and checks and balances. Looks to me from his quotes like his version of checks and balances is "pass a law to keep at least one branch of the government from doing anything."

I think he thinks he's the fucking dictator.
