Long comment part 2:
"
Remember that Luby's cafeteria shooting in Texas in the early 90's? Here's a summary, which I pulled up from

this article:

"George Hennard, an unemployed 35-year-old Belton man, killed 23 people and wounded more than 20 others before it was all over, deliberately choosing his victims as he stalked around the room with two handguns and several clips of ammunition. He eventually killed himself as well. "

If any *one other person* in that restaurant had been armed, they might have helped prevent this. Maybe they could have taken the shooter out, and those 23 killed and 20 wounded wouldn't have been a problem. I can tell you, I absolutely would not hesitate to take a shot at someone in a situation like this if I thought I could hit him without hurting others. That incident is the single most compelling reason why law-abiding citizens who follow proper registration procedures should be allowed to carry firearms, to me. That, and what happened to our friend David. I hope that helps at least a little bit - I know you won't agree with me, and that's totally okay - but I just wanted you to know that people on the other side *do* put thought into this. I absolutely know every ounce of the deadly force I have in my hands when I hold a gun, and I do NOT take it lightly.
