You know you've spent too long on google sightseeing when you think you may have actually spotted the great wall of China. I'm still not sure--no high resolution photos outside major cities in China.

I did findthe Kremlin though. Anyone know what that enormous building with trees inside just to the east is?? I googled a lot and best I can find is that it's a hotel, but that didn't sound right to me.

http://www.alias.com/eng/etc/fakeorfoto/quiz.html

A quiz on which images are photographs and which are CG. I got 9 out of 10 right on the first try, and the one I missed I wavered on for a while before I picked the wrong choice.

I feel like sending this to all the guys here who are trying to convince me that movies like Star Wars look real. :-)

If you haven't read about these MIT kids who are setting up a time travel convention this weekend, check out this article. The guy who organized it sounds like a hoot.

In other news, my pants smell like Mac's. The "new Mac's smell" which doesn't include cigarette smoke, but does include beer, fryer grease and Murphy's oil soap. Delightful.

Okay, this is funny, I promise.

What is popstrology?

Popstrology is the science of the pop stars -- a revolutionary method for gaining self-knowledge by examining the alignment of the pop music charts on the date of your birth.

What's your popstrology "sign"? You can find out by going here Right now, it only works if you born between 1956 and 1989, inclusive.

I was born in the year of Rod Stewart, in the week of Elton John and Kiki Dee Don't Go Breaking My Heart. Eeek.

Bwahaha!

[livejournal.com profile] automat76 sent me a link to Chipotle Fan this evening. You can enter the ingredients that you get when you go to Chipotle and see how many calories you are ingesting. I was shocked to find I avoid nearly 300 calories by getting a Bol rather than a burrito. I'm not normally a calorie counter, but given that the thing started at over 1100....well, that's substantial.

You can also find your burrito soulmate. I am apparently the only person who likes what I like who is not a young woman from Minnesota. Weird.

When a science geek is also a foodie (NYT, requires registration)

I'm all too rested this morning--I went to bed at 10 because of the migraine, and woke up this morning not only early, but not in pain. So hopefully I can get out of work a bit early this afternoon, so that I get all my errands done this evening. Then I fly out to Kripalu bright and early tomorrow. Woo-hoo! Vaca!

...but [livejournal.com profile] automat76 made this cool game recently in Flash. It's an addictive matching game with cool music. I can't really explain the "characters" but it's still fun.

Wil Wheaton's post on Live Aid has just fully expressed how silly it feels to explain an 80s childhood to someone significantly younger than me. Hilarious!
