I feel as if I've had more random illnesses this year than ever before. This one is just weird. Friday night, after boozing it up at Skully's & Downtown Connection with [livejournal.com profile] ryan_rita and [livejournal.com profile] automat76, I got a weird headache. Not a hangover type, not a migraine, just a strange tight feeling in my head. I got myself home and into bed. Woke up the next day, and it was still there. I managed to putter around the house for a bit, but went back to bed and basically slept most of the day, until going thrifting with [livejournal.com profile] automat76 and [livejournal.com profile] yerpretty. Didn't feel good at all at the first thrift store, but once I'd been around for a while, and especially after we ate, I felt better. Still never killed the headache though.

Sunday--woke up, drove to Chillicothe to my aunt's house for Easter. A whole host of family neurosis reared their heads, mostly in the form of everyone making a bit too much over my sister's new boyfriend, who plays in a semi-pro baseball league. The poor boy was freaked out, and my mom and I were just creeped out. Then everyone started trying to throw me at a relative of my uncle's who I have absolutely zero interest in. I felt ok most of the day but started having stomach pains right before I left. Had some more that evening after getting home.

Monday morning, something told me to not go to work. This was good, because the day was filled with achiness, shakiness, headaches and more stomach issues. I got a few things done around the house, but was mostly lazy. By Monday evening, the stomach was killing me, and I just went to bed. Tuesday, got up to go to the doc for my thyroid blood test, then went on to work. I lasted 2.5 hours before the throwing up commenced and I went home. Stayed in bed all day, except for one urgent phone call from work. Went out to buy a can of soup in the evening, and to visit [livejournal.com profile] ryan_rita who was doped up on painkillers because of his own medical snafu (far more serious than mine, but he's ok.) Went to bed.

Woke up feeling wonderfully better this morning, except I gave myself one hell of a stiff neck while sleeping funny last night. And the threat of a headache feeling persists.

Knitting news: I've gotten the baby sweater & hat set almost completed. Just need to knit the second side of the hat, and sew it all up, then figure out how to do some sort of decorative edging. The whole thing is supposed to be crocheted together with a contrast yarn, but I started doing that, and it looked like a mess. I might be able to do that more neatly once it's sewn together though. Also finished two more afghan squares for the wedding gift (which is good, because I learned Sunday that the wedding is in August, not October as I thought previously.)
The garter stitch chenille scarf I started for me is on hold because I've got so much else going on. I also am working on a tote bag from Stitch n' Bitch out of the Rowan spun I got on the clearance shelf at the yarn shop a couple of weeks ago. I need to go back there to get a needle for the cotton tank I'm supposed to be working on, and to see if they have the silk yarn for the other sleeveless sweater I want to do. I'm afraid to go in though, because I have no control at all in there.

Two weeks from now starts my next class: Algorithm Analysis. I looked over the syllabus yesterday, and it doesn't look to be nearly as hard as the first two programming classes I took. There's one fewer programming assignment, and we get lots more time to work on them. This is good, as next week also starts my foray into dekhockey. That's pronounced "deck hockey" not "deek hockey" no matter how it looks. Should be interesting, as I have little to no athletic inclination. Fun.

I also want it to be warm, both indoors and out. At least it's not raining today, but my floor here at work is about 60 degrees. Thankfully, I anticipated this, and am wearing a wool cardigan.

Now it's time to venture downstairs to find some lunch. I'm starving. This is a good sign.

Yuck - hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the yarn and booklet! They have a happy home in my stash now, and the yarn will probably turn into something felted. I will get a package out to you soon - things have been more insane than I had hoped they would be.

What needle do you need for your tank? I may have an extra that I can send along :)
