They Might be Giants put on the best shows. The first time I saw them was the roughest show I'd ever been to (and I had a habit at the time at going in to the pit at things like KMFDM). At that show, a guy jumped off the Newport's balcony and fell on me. When I met back up with the guys I went with, they thought I'd broken my collarbone because I was so bruised!
