So last night a whole herd of us went to see The Stepford Wives (if you're a fan of any of the stars, or if you're just in the mood for good camp, I recommend it). Then we went over to B&J's new place. J is turning the basement into The Blue Lizard Lounge, with pool table, bar, and blue walls. So we went downstairs to see the newly painted walls.
Somehow, I don't know how, I went crashing down the basement stairs on my butt. Hard. Hard enough to scrape and bruise both my forearms on the banister. Everyone was amazed that I didn't break the wine glass in my hand (though it was full, and went all over me and T).
And now, I'm in such pain. There's a visible bruise and a little bit of swelling. It goes from being entirely aware of my coccyx to legitimate difficulty getting in and out of chairs. I can walk around ok though, so I think I'm ok. I just called mom though and I'm driving to meet them in the morning and then riding to Chillicothe for the wedding shower with them, just because it's a shorter drive for me to go to their place.
I will admit that part of my reasoning behind that is also that I can knit in the car on the way down. I should have my sister's bday gift and my dad's father's day gift done today, so I can start knitting the poncho for me. I went to Nordstrom this morning and inspected all the ones in the store to see how they are engineered. I think I'm just knitting one massive rectangle, then folding and stitching, maybe fringing it, and adding a really cool huge wooden button I got on sale at JoAnn. I wish I could get it done tonight, because the yarn matches the skirt I'm wearing tomorrow perfectly. We shall see.
