Jun. 30th, 2004 11:39 pmIt's a poncho! It's a shawl! It's a ponchawl!

That's my first finished object of my own design. Okay, it's a really just a long skinny rectangle. But, I had a vision and I produced it. No, the ends aren't woven in yet, and that button's just shoved through somewhere randomly, but I'll finish it up tomorrow. Size 15 needles and mohair yarn aren't good for my hands, so they're too wrecked to finish it up now. Plus, I'm not absolutely certain I'm going to leave the front loose like in the photo. I might seam it all the way up the front. Either way, I'll have a spiffy new thing to wear for STS & I's reception this weekend.
I'm moving along on the throw too! Only five more squares to go, attaching applique, embroidery, then blocking it, sewing it all together and picking up the border. I have nine weeks (just got the official wedding invite yesterday) so I think I'm in good shape, and may be able to join the traveling women's hockey team after all!
I just got this tonight too. It's luscious and pretty.
