pixiecrinkleActual work this morning. Actual *proofreading* work no less, mostly for a couple of people for whom English is a second language. Everyone else is acting like I got the short straw, but I'm thrilled. I love proofreading.
This was a knitting sweatshop weekend. Saturday was the first SNB, and I got my intarsia eyeglass case started, and finished it up later, only to realize that my laziness in carrying all the yarn across made it ridiculously tight and unusuable. So back to the drawing board on that.
Started two versions of the bag I want to try to submit to knitty. One in Wool Ease Chunky (because I have loads left over from the wedding afghan) one in Bamboo. I like the second one better, even though it will take twice as long to get done. It's pretty, and a very serence color scheme.
And, I'm halfway done with my first sock ever!!! I love it. I've done huge socks to be felted into slippers before, but never a real sock that was meant to remain a sock. I picked up some Brittany birch size 2 needles at the wool fest last weekend, and had a ball of Magic Stripes laying around thanks to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
knitswap so I gave it another shot. These needles made all the difference in the world. I'm past the heel turn now, and will maybe be able to finish the first sock this week. I think the cuff is a bit loose at the top (yes, I tried it on, and yes, I took a photo, but haven't uploaded it yet.) but it's definitely a good first sock.
A couple other holiday gifts have gotten good starts too. I have one more "designing my own" in that group, but the knitty deadline is October 15, and I've got three things I want to have done by then, so one of them will probably have to go, since none of them are done right now.
I think we're doing Indian food tonight. Mmmmmm...
