Actual *proofreading* work no less, mostly for a couple of people for whom English is a second language. Everyone else is acting like I got the short straw, but I'm thrilled. I love proofreading.
Me three. I did it professionally for a couple of years - and then for three more, really, since when I was a professional copyeditor I had as one of my (probably not reached) goals giving the proofreader as little to do post-copyedit as possible.
During my copyediting days, I found that authors for whom English was a second language were (1) often better writers and (2) almost always more polite than authors for whom English was putatively a first language. Odd, that :-).
