Am just back from a whirlwind trip to Indianapolis at the end of a long weekend. Basic gist:

-Ani Friday was good, but not the best show I've seen of hers ever. Crowd had too many rude drunks (do *not* yell out the final line of a poem before the performer says it, idiot!) And I felt like crap anyway.
-Saturday, day of errands. Spent to much at Target, and managed to get through DSW without buying anything!
-Sunday: I went running! Then my car was acting funny, so we took [livejournal.com profile] automat76's on the trip to Indy.
-PJ Harvey show was amazing. Crowd was more around our age, and the venue (The Vogue) was tiny and cool. Like a clean Newport (no really, imagine the Newport clean and maintained, and then make it even cleaner. Really.) She opened with "50 Ft Queenie" and played stuff off every album. Awesome.
-Back to hotel, up fairly early.
-First ever meal for me at an IHOP. Really!
-Stopped at Webb's Antique Mall in Centerville.
-Tried to visit my parents, but they weren't at home.
-Got home, and discovered my car wouldn't start at all. Took it to the garage, and will check on it tomorrow.
-checked much email. Will catch up on lj later. Got rejected by knitty.
-Now, am exhausted. Totally totally exhausted.

Darn! Didn't realize you were going to be in town.

I've never made it to the Vogue, but I've heard it's cool.

We were honestly in town and then immediately out again, so I didn't bother to warn anyone. :-)

The Vogue rocked. I am seriously considering that I will drive to Indy for shows I really want to see if they are not playing a fun place here.
