I love me some autumn
Oct. 9th, 2004 03:03 pmJust took advantage of laundry day to pull out all the fall/winter wear, and put away all the summer stuff.
I've been good this past year about not buying tons and tons of clothes. Part of that is that I shrank 3 sizes two years ago and had to buy lots then. Since then, I've gained two sizes back, and don't want to go through the expense of replacing everything yet again.
I've realized something though. I dress like a slob in the summer. Relatively, I mean. I pretty much live in tank tops, t-shirts and jeans at home, and t-shirts with skirts or pants for work. I like wearing more fun clothes though, and I love the feeling of opening up the big Rubbermaid totes and finding all these things I forgot I had in my winter stock. Sweaters galore!!! Big thick wooly sweaters with cables, and hoods and those cool 80s slash necks I became enamored of last year.
And tweed! I heart tweed. I love dressing like a secretary from the fifties. If I can still fit into the skirt, I'm wearing one of my secretary outfits to work on Tuesday. I might even tie a scarf around my neck!!
Hooray for cool weather!!!!!
(I feel a bit like I'm channeling one of those annoying Old Navy commercials right now. I assure you, that was not my intent. I just really love tweed that much.)
