So, I made it to Dublin. And now I have 15 minutes to kill before class starts. This is the world's loudest keyboard!!

It appears I'm the only woman in the class so far. They all look "managemently" too--must be 'cause we're in the 'burbs. Tee-hee.

I've had this instructor before, so that's good.

Last night was fun--we went to El Vaquero for M's bday, then to M & BoyWonder's afterward. We had a party of about 15. Two couples announced impending babies while we were there. Wow. E would not shut up about real estate the whole time. I finally pointed it out when we were at the house, and his response was that it was the only way he could make money because he was poor. Well, I'm too poor to buy one house, let alone a second! Hmmph. He seems to think I could afford it with the 80/20 thing for no money down, so maybe I'll start looking again. I still have until next summer on my lease. I just doubt I'll find anything I can afford in my area, which is not fun. I don't want to leave.

OK, time to start class.

Have I mentioned that I hate driving to the suburbs for stuff? Well, I do. Dublin has streets that suddenly turn at 90 degree angles at intersections. Then you end up in a cul-de-sac. I got waaaay lost at lunch, but found my way back (early even). At one point I hit a dead end after being in a turn-only lane. Someone needs to do some planning on the traffic control here. I cannot figure out how anyone can stand to live out here. There are no sidewalks!

And I keep attracting SUVs that seem to want to plow over my little car. Ummmm...yeah.

I found the weird shopping center I remembered from being up here before. Everything is identical--no signs on the outside. So I'd seen a Burger King sign and wanted to try the veggie sandwich, but I wasn't sure if I was at Burger King until I was at the counter inside, because the signs are down by the road, but nowhere on the outside of the building. Very very odd. And the sandwich was sucky.

I did see a Roly-Poly -- the place T. told me about. Maybe I'll try to find my way back there tomorrow for lunch....if I can figure out how to get back there!

The recruiter called back earlier this morning. It was a contract job, so I'm not interested, but I'm going to pass BestFriend's info along. The woman was thrilled when I said I knew someone who might be interested and who was definitely qualified.

Why do people want to smell like fruit flavors? All the soap and products in the bathroom at the training place were in scents like melon and peach and raspberry. Furthermore, why are there "products" there at all? I don't want to sit next to the person who decided to douse themselves in smelly stuff and make my eyes burn all afternoon. Mini-rant now over.

We got out of class at 3:30. So I'm freaking out at the prospect that there is actual *sunshine* outside!! But I need to get the voiceovers done, and just checked my work email and found about 4 more scripts in my inbox. So it's recording time for me.

I may never speak again. I just spent *3 hours* talking nonstop while recording these voiceovers. I think I now have a pronounced lisp when saying the word "estimate" because I've said it about 900 times.
