Mmmmm...

I accidentally got a vanilla diet pepsi last night out of a machine (it was dark, and the labeling is so subtle, so I couldn't tell until it popped out.) I was upset, because everyone I know who has tried it says it's gross. But I was surprised to find that it's really really good. It doesn't have that diet coke chemical taste and the vanilla is very very subtle. I think the coke stuff is way too sweet anyway. So I like it. Hooray.

I also skimmed through The Clitoral Truth by Rebecca Chalker yesterday. There's a really long post coming on why this book irked me a whole lot. But right now I've got to finish coding my homework. Then tonight is David Sedaris at the Wex!!! Hooray again!

Java....urgh. (Warning. Geek post!)

So, I'm trucking along in writing this program. Still pretty sure I won't be turning it in on time, because while I've gotten tons done today, testing is not my strong suit at all on this type of thing, so I need lots of time for that, and with not being able to work on it from about 6 until 11 probably, it may be getting done later this week. But I'm ok with that because I feel like I've got a lot better handle on what I'm doing than I did just a few hours ago. It's amazing what having the classroom bulletin board will do for you. I fiddled with this stuff for several hours before I got the basic concept of feeding a file to a stream to a stream reader. And I just now had the big "Oh, duh!" moment when trying to find a way pull a byte out of a String.

I am happy though that I'm beginning to figure out NetBeans. It does the little squiggly lines like Word's autocorrect feature for syntax errors, which will be sooooooo helpful for yours truly, the fast and messy typist.

OK. I'm taking a short break to get myself something chocolate and wash the weekend out of my hair, then it's back to coding.
