So I figured it's about time I updated about homecoming weekend, which was last weekend. And, since I have this distance, and am pretty much trying to be positive, I will ignore the bad parts of the weekend, and instead focus on the two awesome parts:

1. My radio show: I knew I missed beign on the radio, but I didn't realize how much. Ended up hanging out for 2 hours, because [livejournal.com profile] automat76 and I had back to back slots. Met several DJs who graduated the year we were born and at least one who is now a professional commerical oldies DJ. Weird. But I had fun, and even got a call asking about what a song was. I felt popular. Viva ChickRock!!!! Keith C. came in and introduced his wife, and she recognized me from a Groovy Art Chick movie, which was really odd.

2. Got to see Cathy S. aka "Suzy Speaks." We never hung out a whole lot at Denison, but were on the newspaper together and never had a bad time when we were hanging out. She's as awesome as ever, and I had a blast with her. She, of course, having not seen me since graduation, was shocked and pleased by my general girliness. I miss her. Am hoping to drag her out here again for a visit, or maybe get up to Philly to see her. [livejournal.com profile] spandita, I gave her your email, and will send you hers as well. She'd love to hear from you!

Mostly though, it was a quiet weekend. I don't think there were half as many people at the Gala as there were last year. No one that I was really close to was even there. Ben S. who was on the paper was there, and it was good to see him. Cathy's friend Karen, was also a blast as usual. But other than that, there were only a handful of people I even knew. Ended up talking to a lot of the people who I only knew via being one of the overachievers at the brunch, and never really had much in common with any of them anyway, so there wasn't much to talk about.

I don't think I want to go back again until my 10 year. I think, since I'm so close by, that if I find out any of my younger friends are coming in for their 5 years, I'll just make the offer for them to swing through Columbus on their way and hang out then. It was kind of fun to see all the changes to campus, but it's also still a little too soon I think to be very nostalgic. There's still just a lot of crap that went on there that I need a little more time to forget permanently. :-(

Must run now. [livejournal.com profile] automat76 is picking up B & J from their honeymoon return, and we are going to the Press for some beers. I must find my gloves before I get the bat signal. If my hands are freezing in the house, I know I won't be able to walk down there and not have numb hands by the time I get there.
