Okay, work got way super-busy yesterday. I was in meetings for 5 hours straight basically. This new project is a beast, so I've got tons to do, but that's a good thing.

Ran to the library after work to photocopy patterns out of books I wasn't able to renew due to lengthy reserve lists, and was run out by loud loud live rap in the entryway. It was open mic night? What's up with that?

Got home, grabbed some food quickly (I've been cooking ahead and freezing in preparation for nanowrimo, so luckily, I had yummy soup in the fridge) and went to Studio 35 with some kids to watch the debates, and the end of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. Once again, got converged on by petitioners, etc. I'm glad that they are all doing this, but I am so sick of not being able to walk two feet without being asked if I'm registered to vote. Especially since the one girl was asking us if we were young voters, and when J. and I joked that we were too old to sign her petition, she had the audacity to guess my age at 34 and then do a bad job of trying to cover it up. She was all of 19. I almost gave her the Miss Manners lecture on why you don't ask a lady's age, but I decided not too ruin her young idealism. I put another, much nicer volunteer-seeker on the spot later, and made him guess my age (3 beers make the ettiquette snottiness go out the door) and he guessed 23. So on average, they guessed correctly. :-)

I'd also made a big mistake of grabbing an eyelash scarf to work on as I was running out the door. As if eyelash isn't frustrating enough, I had to decide to try to work on it in the dark, using only feel to figure out where the stitches were? I cast on 15 stitches, but by the time I put it back in my bag, I had 20 or 25 stitches per row. Yet somehow, the thing looked basically rectangular still. Go figure.

Watching the debate with a huge crowd of people who were all of the same mindset was kind of cool, as all the heckling was listened to as carefully as the debate itself. Beer makes debates more watchable.

Of course, this all meant I wasn't home until midnight, and went straight to bed, so now I'm behind on everything I wanted to get done this week. I may go yarn shopping tonight to get the supplies for the people I'm teaching next week, and hopefully will be able to avoid buying anything more for myself.

Name a CD you own that no-one else on your friends list does:
Tanya Donnely, Beautysleep

I have lots of obscure regional acts from my days of running The ChickRock Pages, but that seems like cheating. :-)

Name a book you own that no-one else on your friends list does:
Hmmm....how about Twilight Sleep by Edith Wharton?

Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that no-one else on your friends list does:
I actually only own one movie. And it's Peter Greenaway's Belly of an Architect. I used to also own Errol Morris' Gates of Heaven. I think I'm reasonably secure that no one else is going to have those lying about the house.

Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has:
This is really really hard. I'm going to go with Lenox, Massachusetts. Anyone?
