1. With my cardigan off, you can see my entire tattoo through the back of my blouse. Oops.

2. The polka dots on said blouse exactly match the polka dots on my undies.

I had no idea I was so coordinated.

Randomly, my socks and underwear often match in pattern or color.

If you've seen my socks, you should be horrified.

I dig your tattoo...any recommendations? I'm going to look at artists portfolios this weekend.

Very cool. I've thought about getting a tattoo but I have no idea what I would want marked on my body for the rest of my life. I do have a spot on my back that might be cool to have one. Might be interesting. Something to think about.

If you are over 19 I'll wager $20 that you will never get one. I wouldn't get one now if I didn't already have two. It's kind of like sleeping around. Once you're with one person, there is no mystery but it's still kind of special. After two it's just plain fun.

yeah...this is my second. I lived with both as drawings on the wall for over a year before I actually got them.

My next will be knitting-themed, no doubt. Yay! :-)

*raise eyebrow* oh really. I may just hold you to that! I've been all about the new things recently. New life experiences, changing who *I* am, re-imaging myself, and all that jazz. Had you said this to me a year or two ago... Well I'd have agreed with you totally. Now though...

I'm getting to the point where I'm damned proud of my body. Give me 6 more months and I think I'll be in GQ cut shape enough to get a tattoo and get a nice big photograph to show it off to boot.

So is the back a good place to get it or a bad place? I've seen lots of women with lower back tattoo's I doubt I'd ever do that. But maybe higher up if it's not to insanely dangerous/painfull. If it's just pain I can totally deal with that.

That is awesome, go you! When people ask me what physical characteristics attract me to a man, I say blonde hair and tattoos! Upper back is good, that's where I'm getting my next one. I think it's best to start with places that are easily hidden. And don't wait for the "hot" body...I know it takes a lot to love the body you're in, but remember...when you're old your body won't be hot, but you'll still have the tattoo...so own it! Make it meaningful to you and show it off regardless of whether or not you look perfect. None of us look "perfect" anyway, but we all look pretty kickass.
If you'll excuse me, I recently got back from Israel and it turned me pretty mystical and generally positive.

A good friend of mine admitted to me last night that she almost never matches her socks. I was ashamed at how horrified that made me. I don't think the socks and underwear thing would bug me though. :-)

I passed out twice on my first one, which is on the base of my spine. It's one of the more painful places. General rule of thumb is that it hurts more over bone and less over muscle or fat. Of course, over fat, it has more opportunity to shift and change shape over time, which is why there will never be a tattoo in my midsection.

My thought, and I don't know if anyone else would corroborate this, is that it hurts more towards the spine than it does toward the outside of your back. That might have been because we were right over my shoulder blade towards the inside though. Near the underarm was a disturbing feeling because that would normally tickle, and well, it didn't with this. Personally, I'm more bothered by the skin irritation of going over a spot several times with different needles than I am by the pain of the needle itself.

This, of course, is all coming from a woman who ended up with a total of 19 ear piercings at one point, in an effort to rid herself of her fear of needles. Didn't work.

But seriously, don't wait on the body for the tat, unless you're getting it put someplace that will drastically change shape. Both mine have on some level been about claiming my life as my own, so I knew when the time was right.

Also, if you go to their website, you'll see a couple other portfolios, but those guys are no longer at the shop. Not sure where they've gone. I know people recommend Evolved, and I used to hang out in Fate (north of Lane and High) when my piercer worked there, so I know they are good too. I know nothing about the shop in the former Piercology space, but it looks intriguing.

Oh I'm in pretty damned good shape right now. I just thought it would be better to wait to show it off right if I do go ahead and get it. Oh I plan on being a hot body grandpa one of these day ;-) If you take care of yourself there is no reason why you can't look good later in life.

True dat about not being perfect ;-) I just want to be the best I can. I agree though that most of us do look pretty kick ass. I friended you btw.

Good advice, thanks! Oh yea I'd never get one on the belly either. I'm not looking to get anything BIG but I would like something meaningful, detailed, and artistically pleasing. I have pretty high standards ;-).
