Back in the land of the living....

pixiecrinkle...My text messaging is fixed!!! Talked to the people at the store where I bought the phone today (they are really quite cool) and the woman there confirmed my suspicion that the woman I talked to on the phone last week had no idea what she was talking about, and I was in no danger of having to give up my spiffy phone (which was designed for text messaging anyway).
So she swapped my SIM card out, just to se if it would help, but it did nothing. So I was instructed to wait a bit then call customer service back and tell them to "execute a trouble ticket." So I did that this evening, and talked to a lovely woman who got it all taken care of for me. She even told me it could take up to 3 hours for the fix to cycle through the network to fix the phone, then the test message she sent me promptly beeped in my ear, which cracked us both up. So I am back and able to communicate again.

spandita, I've found the international text instructions, so I've tried you again. And anyone else who wants to mess with my head by text messaging me through my lj user page should feel free. :-)
I love good customer service experiences. After last night's ticketmaster snafu that caused the David Sedaris show to start quite late, I think this has inspired me to write a good letter for once, and to say something I never thought would leave my mouth: AT&T rocks!
Back to coding. The prof gave us a one day reprieve!! (And, I've discovered that the way I designed my program means that I have 90% of the second assignment done too once this is tested and turned in. Hooray!
Oh yeah. A new icon for me too. It's my Halloween makeup from last year (hence, the extra eyelashes.)
