pixiecrinkleI have finally figured out that what makes my computer at home go all wonky is trying to install Office XP (its a Win98 machine). Which makes sense to me, but it *says* it will be ok. It seems to cause all sorts of registry errors though, and now I've gotten Word installed, but can't install Excel, Access, etc. So, one more thing to do on my semester off come January -- upgrade the OS on this thing once and for all!!!
I have the math project that's due tomorrow half done. I have all the stats run though the software package, and now just have to do the writing portion. Wouldn't feel so bad about coasting through the last 2 weeks in there if I hadn't gotten a C on my last test. (Primarily due to not using one table correctly. Repeatedly.) But, alas, looks like I actually have to try. I will hopefully get this done tomorrow during lunch, and the one hour between class and work.
I have a sneaking suspicion that my pre-class hangout is no more. The windows of Town Addiction are covered in brown paper, which I noticed yesterday and this morning while driving into the parking garage before work. They haven't been as busy in the past year as they were when I first started working down there, and at one point the business was for sale. I hope there's merely some remodeling going on, or some wacky explanation while they are open but the windows are covered. I hope hope hope!!!
Tomorrow I am calling a bank about pre-qualifying for a mortgage. A new building of condos is for sale near me, at 100% financing, and no PMI. Perhaps it's not wisest idea for me to move now, but it's been nagging at me. At least if I check on the pre-approval, I'll have an idea of whether or not this is a total pipe dream. They are a bit on the steep side price-wise, but it's a perfect location, and the ones I'm looking at (small 2 bedrooms) are slightly larger than my current apartment. We shall see.
To bed now. T -2 weeks until my life is my own again, and no longer Franklin University's!
