Apr. 5th, 2004 12:55 pmThis weekend flew by, with no real accomplishments!
Worked until 8:00 or so, then met
automat76 and
ryan_rita at Skully's for happy hour. After stationing ourselves at the bar and consuming many $1 cocktails, we finally got wise and ordered food. Then it was off to D.C. for darts. I was miffed at the bartender for not understanding my drink order simply because I was correctly pronouncing "Ohranj." Many darts, and much less drama than normal at the bar, ensued.
I was supposed to get a call from work, letting me know when the application was ready for me to test my portion. I expected this call to come around 11, so I stayed in bed and lazed around for a while. By 2 pm, they still hadn't called, so I called in and found out they were just then ready for me. So I trotted in to work, past all the cheerleading groups clogging the roads near the convention center. By the time I got my laptop up and running and all the software going, we discovered that we actually couldn't get through the app to my stuff. So I said I'd come in the next morning and left. Met
automat76 for coffee before we got ready and went to Girl's Night at Tapatio and Martini. Yummy yummy dinner. And yummy yummy martinis, with gorgonzola stuffed olives. We ended up ducking out before dancing, and went home and watched SNL instead. I still have the Donald Trump's House of Wings song in my head (to the tune of Van Halen's "Jump")
Woke up much later than I'd intended, compounded by the time change. Ended up making it in to work around 1, only to find I still was at a standstill. So, I ended up at the "baby party" at E&N's house, then on for more darts at the Tavern. Some freaky dart-boy joined us and pissed off both
ryan_rita and I by offering us some unsolicited dart-playing advice. Later, we ended up at Union Station for even more darts and some dinner.
I got a call (which I didn't answer, because I was afraid it was work) from a girl I went to high school with. Her birthday is this week and she was calling to invite me to go to a bar with some people. I haven't hung out with her in a long time (as in, since we were in 4-H together), except for running into her at concerts or at Skully's in the past couple years. I don't dislike her, but I'm not sure it would be the most fun ever. I do have other plans already (to go see The Company--it's finally playing here!), so I'm not going to be able to go anyway.
I have incredibly stiff wrists this morning. I didn't knit all that much this weekend, so I can only assume it's from the dart playing. There's a slight bit of swelling, so out came the Vioxx. And now I'm feeling dizzy.
Now it's time for a meeting. So we'll end this pointless update now. :-)
