Forgot to note last night

pixiecrinkleWhen you leave work here after 6 pm, the electric eye raises the security gate on the garage so you can get out. Problem is, if there is more than one car, it often doesn't see the second or third car, and will start to come back down (this happened to me last week.)
When I left work last night, it was fairly late, and I drove out of the garage behind our executive director. She stopped dead in the driveway, not far enough to see to drive up, but not far enough back that I wasn't under the gate. As she finally pulled up to turn out of the garage, I realized the reason she stopped. She was reading the newspaper!!!
This continued through two traffic lights up the street. I couldn't turn right on red because she was straddling the lane and didn't pull up far enough. I almost honked at her when she didn't move when the light turned green. But how do you honk at your ultimate boss?
This is a smart smart woman. And I know her drive home is only about 20 minutes. Can't she wait that long to read the paper?
