OK, I've determined this is the worst sunburn I've ever gotten. It's three days after I got it and I'm still pink to red in all the places that were burnt. A "normal" sunburn for me usually fades to tan in a day or two, tops.

And now the itching has set in. It's brutal. The worst is the middle of my back (damn you halter top!), my face, and my scalp, where my bangs meet the hair pulled back into my ponytail.

if it doesn't squick you (or the friend out), it can really help to have someone sift through your hair and pull out the dead skin where it peels. tom does this for me with a fine tooth comb and his fingers. I blatantly admit I take advantage of his perfectionism by asking him to peel off the dead skin on my scalp. My hair is so damn long that brushing along will not de-flake me.

otherwise, when the skin is no longer too tender, scrubbie gloves are great. then moisturize!

I've pretty much been bathing in moisturizer for three days now -- moisturizing and hydrating like it's my job! And since the only friend I could even consider asking to sift through my hair is also burnt and might need the same, I may have a taker!
