It's official: I've got 4 out of 5 rows of the throw done. That leaves three more blocks to do to finish the last row, then the border and some embroidery.

I ordered this today to help out with the blocking. I've never really learned to block properly, and I've never really *had* to block anything I've made, so I think it will turn out to be important for this project and a good investment to boot.

I just realized earlier that I've set a precedent by making this throw for S. & A. With my sister engaged, and possibly getting married as early as next fall, I might be spending next summer on a blanket too. I'll have to find a more challenging pattern next time. This one, I thought would be more challenging than it has been -- if it had a different pattern on every square, that might have satisfied me, but it got a bit monotonous after a while, especially since my least favorite pattern is the one that's used the most.

I also got some yarn to make a lace shawl today. I don't have a pattern yet, but I'm looking around. That's my next big challenge: learning how to do true lace. I'm going into this knowing it might take me several years to finish this one, but right now I'm tiring of simple projects.

I want one of those blocking boards. I think I'll have to add it to my Birthday/Xmas list!

FYI-- I did find it cheaper elsewhere, but I think it was a smaller size. I went ahead and ordered from Patternworks because, well, they were having a sale on yarn too. :-)
