Miscellany
Aug. 25th, 2004 04:15 pm1. There is a praying mantis on our window. On the eighth floor. Everyone keeps walking by and exclaiming, "How did it get up so high?!" My theory is either:
2. I have been really dizzy for the past few minutes. I have no theories as to why, but I decided hot chocolate would make it better. So far, not so much.
3. The guy next to me just used the word "disemboweled" in a way that makes me think he has no clue what it actually means.
a. the window washers who were here earlier
b. it flew from the garden on the outside of the fourth floor
c. they really can fly that high.
d. scaling the building like spiderman

Date: 2004-08-25 03:38 pm (UTC)I ran over to check on it and to see if it was obviously hurt or what. It wasn't a bat.
It was a praying mantis.
Then I realized that there were lots more . . . big ones. All around. Some in the area, most on the ground.
have you ever had a dozen or more praying mantids track you with their heads? that's creepy.
We admired them before running for the car before they could eat us. Or before one could land on our heads.
