I've started getting to work earlier this week. On two days, however, I've ended up at my desk even later than normal. Why, do you ask? Because apparently idiots work here, who cannot be bothered to figure out how to get in the parking garage correctly.

Tuesday and today, I spent 10 minutes in the garage, behind someone who apparently lost all knowledge of how you get in the employee parking. Easy. Scan ID, arm lifts, drive upstairs. The first one was a person who'd forgotten their card, adn instead of followign the procedure to park in visitor parking hten go get a temp card, decided they were special and could just sit there and wait. Meanwhile, I'm behind them, and 8 cars are behind me. Eventually we all have to back up so she can get out.

This morning's was a new flavor. I watched her scan 2 or 3 cards before starting to wave her hands wildly. Huh? Only your ID will work. I stil can't figure out what the hand waving was. I thought it was a signal for me to back up, so I (and and the 8 cars behind me) did. But she continued to sit there, periodically waving her hands, until a security guard came out. I was not amused.

At least I have tea now.

I'm getting an error in the program I'm using to test what I'm working on. It just says "undefined template." I have no clue what this means, because I have quadruple checked, and all my templates are defined. So it must mean something else. It would not be abnormal for this to give me an error that sounds specific, but is far from it.

So I looked in the help for the software I'm using. My last search term was still in the search box. Guess what it was? "Undefined template."

So, I turned to google. My search on xslt + "undefined template" yielded three results. One was just not useful, one was not about xslt, but about python, and the third was written in German!

I'm tearing my hair out. Even though [livejournal.com profile] ryan_rita and I made our way through some German news blurbs last night, I'm not prepared to read technical newsgroups in a second language that I've all but forgotten.

I need a break. Time for the afternoon-ly soda.

P.S. My knee hurts.

So, it looks like Campus Partners (if they ever break ground and actually build this project) will be including a theatre in the OSU Gateway project after all. And the Drexel gets to manage it.

I worked for the Drexel, right up until the time they got the contract to manage the arena theatre. I'm still very glad I left, because the environment was making me nuts, but I'm also glad to see them have this sort of success.

But yes, in the back of my mind, there's still that thought that if I get totally sick and tired of the IT/web world, I could probably get an event planning job from them in a heartbeat. Every time I run into one of the Franks, they hint (or in some cases, outright ask) if I'd be interested in coming back.

They had 4 screens when I left. This new theatre would give them a total of 20 screens. I'm thinking that might solve the micromanagement problem that drove me off? Then again, maybe not.

Either way, I'm thrilled for them. Go Drexel!

A few weeks ago, some friends and I played a card game called Stoner Fluxx. I found the website for the standard Fluxx tonight.

The section of special cards is pretty cool. I like the idea of the blanks too. Wacky hijinks will ensue.
