Things it is difficult to do with one hand (one's non-dominant hand) and a mummified painful stump which must not be dampened, while occasionally under the influence of codeine:

put in/remove contacts
zip pants
brush teeth (thankfully, I got myself an electric toothbrush earlier this year)
sign a lease
write a check
clean up spilled olive oil
eat spaghetti while reading a book
clean up the yarn in the living room (this was more emotionally difficult)
list items on ebay
take a photo
put on bra
put hair in ponytail suitable for leaving the house
send text messages from cell phone
use photoshop for anything
wash hair
wash face
sqeeze any kind of product out of a bottle
peel the top off a pudding container

Sigh. Alas, I am coping. But this royally sucks.

I've worn contacts for so long that I can easily put them in or remove them with one hand (or both hands, simulataneously removing/inserting both lenses).

The key is to look up, pull the lower lid down gently with one's ring finger, then use your thumb and middle finger to grasp the contact near the bottom (it will be near your upper lid, as you're looking up) of the iris/lens, and pinch it away from your eye. This is also my method of removing them when I have too-long-for-mucus-membrane fingernails. ;)

I sort of draw the lens down with my middle finger as I bring my thumb in from the bottom side to hold it, which results in the suction being broken, so the lens pops out as the fingers pinch it away from the eye. If my nails aren't long, I use my forefinger instead of my middle finger.

That would be one of the hardest!

The things we take for granted. Good luck.

I'd make a crass bra joke, but I'm a good guy ;)

did you get one of those crazy plastic oven mit looking contraptions? it has a seal on one end so that it slides over your cast and seals against the skin on your arm. in theory it allows you to take a shower with your cast and not get it wet. it also looks absloutley rediculous ;)
