I should not drive with my glasses at night!!!!!

I'm wearing my glasses until Thursday afternoon, because Thursday morning I have a consult to see if I am a good LASIK candidate or not. They told me that I shouldn't wear my contacts for two days prior, so little overcompensating me decided to give it a full week. And then I left for the grocery last night (ok, it was 6 pm, so I have trouble calling that "night" but it was dark out!) and thought I was going to end up in a wreck at many points. If you google for a photo of how the side effects of LASIK can give you halos around lights -- I SEE THAT NOW! So I wonder if that means I'm more or less prone to ending up with that side effect if I actually psyche myself up to go through with this?

I actually sat through the laser surgery infomercial yesterday afternoon, just so I could get a good look at the equipment. It wasn't for my doctor (mine's at OSU) but I figured it was the same general idea.

I find it unfair that I went to bed early enough last night to get 8 hours of sleep and yet I feel as if I could go to bed for another four or so. I cannot wait for the daylight to start increasing again!!

And as a sidenote, I finally remembered to look up what LASER stands for:

Laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation

And there are conflicting answers for what LASIK stands for, but all are full of Latin!

LASIK is an abbreviated term for "LASer In situ
Keratomileusis".
Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis.

I could swear I saw one where the K stood for Keratotomy too, but that doesn't make must sense.
