I had a dream last night that I was a member of the electoral college for Ohio (?), and that we were voting on the presidential election. We were sitting in circles, divided by distric, on folding chairs in a school gymnasium. We had one guy who half-assedly voted for Bush, and the rest of us voted for Kerry, except for one woman who accidentally voted for a woman named "Kendall." I woke up while berating some guy about how nuts a fringe party (that I don't think exists in real life) was. It was odd.

Ohio is enough to swing the total vote to Kerry if you were all to defect (except for that one Kendall supporter).

I guess I don't know how hard it is to become an elector. Some states seem to give it away to partisan nobodies like us, while others have the top statewide officeholders of the appropriate party fill out the paperwork. (Turns out I know this because there was a story that NY tried to cast all of her votes for John L. Kerry.) Don't know where Ohio falls.

Okay, come to think of it, I guess it would be pretty tricky for a registered Democrat to be named a Bush elector. Leader of the state GOP must have had a stroke there or something.
