Yesterday, because I was sick of all my long hair, dry because I gave myself highlights and for some reason have shunned conditioner this summer, and because I no longer needed to be concerned with having up-do length hair for sis's wedding, I got a whim. So I called the Aveda Institute and they had one appointment left today.

Last night I sat around knitting while watching Sex & the City and reading bad women's magazines, and located a photo. Thing is, I have baby fine hair, and more of it than seems humanly possible, so all these gorgous flippy bobs will not emerge on my head, no matter how long someone tries.

So I walked in today with a photo, and a whole list of things I wanted to change about it. And the girl who did my hair did a fabulous job--she absolutely understood what I wanted. And now I have short hair again. Woo-hoo!





And I'm about to go to a tiki themed party, so I found a never worn halter dress I got at a thrift store (for $4! And it's reversible!) in the back of my closet and did up my face. It'll probably last about an hour, but I like playing girlie-girl every once in a while.





This is the shortest my hair has been in quite some time. I'm happy!

Yep, just a little nostril screw. So small that people at work occasionally still ask me when I got it done -- it's been there since last May!

I get trims regularly, and it's pretty hard for them to screw it up because it's really all one length (though last time I had two long layers put in to cover some breakage). But I don't like how I look with short hair, so no big cuts! :)

I LOVE that cut. I tried to hav emy hair that way, but mine is the opposite...super thick. It ends up being sort of round. Hense my growing it out. But that looks so good on you!

My hair is actually very very thick as well as being baby fine. People are often halfway through cutting mine before they realize how much of it there is. But, if you can get them to do enough texturizing and thinning of the ends, you lose that round look -- I've learned that the hard way. :-)

That's how I finally go the cut to look okay, my hair was seriously razored. I just look better with long hair...I'm always envious of all these indie-rock looking chicks (you included) that have all these cute short cuts. The cut you have is the only one that I looked decent in and only when I was very slim.

Thanks! I keep telling people my eyes are green, and even close friends of mine don't seem to believe me. That photo isn't doctored at all, so I don't know what color they think they are! :-)

What colour do they think they are? Grey/blue? My eyes move between greenish and greyish depending on what I'm wearing (or how much I've been crying). ;)

Damn it Carl!!! At the beginning of the summer I debated, haircut or let it grow for Locks of Love. After much deliberation, I finally decided I'd let it grow. So of course that's means this summer is stupid hot, and everyone I know is getting super cute haircuts and I'm all envious with a hot neck or hurty hair because it's up all the time. Damn!!!

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE your new hair, I'm just super stupid jealous because I want a cute haircut too!

Most people say they are the nebulous "hazel" but I've heard both blue and brown too. Weird thing is, I did some sort of eye color predictor thing on the web recently and it told me it was genetically impossible for me to have green eyes. Weird.
