pixiecrinkleOn Columbus Day, I was downtown on foot, because I'd dropped my car off to be worked on, and I had errands to run. I decided to do "vacation type things" since I had the free time. Well, that was kind of a bust, because the art museum turned out to be closed on Mondays, and the manicure I went to get was a weird experience (and a long story I'll have to tell later) but the day was good overall.
One of the highlights was a visit to the new Potbelly Sandwich Works downtown where I tried a delicious drink in an old fashioned glass soda bottle: Cricket Cola. It's one of those wacky newish green tea based sodas. And it was the best I've tried. Definitely better than Steap.
I'm enjoying a Blue Sky Imperial Lime Green Tea Soda right now, but the cricket was better. I haven't found it in any stores here yet, but this site sells it. I may have to get some of it.
I've made the decision to try to kick the nutra-sweet habit I've been nursing since I was about 15. I haven't had any since Friday, but I haven't been in any diet pepsi pushing situations either. Maybe I'll get some Cricket to help me out. I only wish that Splenda didn't make me sick, because then this would be easier. I'm going to have to kick soda completely to kick aspartame without doubling my weight at the rate I've been ingesting the stuff.
