...of the VW bug cozy at Winterfair. We went yesterday to check it out.

Here's me, with the piece I knitted (the trunk) in my funky "I am an artiste!" outfit aka, it's freezing out and I'm wearing all the wool accessories I grabbed while going out the door.

The rest of them are here.

You helped knit that?! Rad! I saw that on the Weekender cover.

Thanks! I did help knit it, though no one would know, because they left me out of the credits (and I assume the Weekender article too--I didn't get my hands on a hard copy.) I just did the trunk. It was hellish, but worth it in the end.

It was fun, especially after I figured out the engineering of it. Up until that point, my roommates got to hear me swear a lot, as I'm sure the housemates of the other knitters did as well. :-)

Thanks! I was thrilled to see how well everyone's pieces meshed, so I was impressed too when we got there.

"just did the trunk" like that's a small thing!

It looks wonderful, and it's so cool!

Well, in relation to some of the others it was. I saw the woman who did the roof working on it at a yarn shop and I think hers was harder because even though it was a big rectangle, she had to sit underneath a heavy, acrylic blanket essentially to get the thing finished. That stuff was *hot*!

That is so awesome. I love all the tacky flowers and stuff!

There were even more flowers waiting to go on it too. I think they were letting kids add them to the car, and eventually, they'll all be sewn on to it. Hopefully they'll use it in art car parades too!
